Discover JibeLoop
JibeLoop is a music practice app that replaces the metronome with customizable bass and drum accompaniment.
It lets you easily create your own backing tracks to practice your instrument in a more musical and engaging way.
JibeLoop is designed for all instrumentalists, whether they are teachers, students or self-taught musicians, beginners or experienced players.
Its interface is designed to be easy to use from the start, while offering more advanced features for those who want to go further.
Yes. JibeLoop includes 10 demo projects that let you quickly explore the app and different types of backing tracks.
You’ll find rock, pop, blues, funk and jazz grooves, as well as rhythmic examples and exercises.
JibeLoop is available in French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Italian.
The language can be changed directly from the app settings.
Create and customize a backing track
Tap a cell on the grid to add a note. Tap an existing note to remove it.
The drum track lets you create the rhythm part, while the bass track lets you create the bass line for your backing track.
Touch and hold the left side of a note, then drag it horizontally to change its position.
On the bass track, you can also drag it vertically to change its pitch.
Touch and hold the right edge of the note, then drag it to shorten or lengthen its duration.
JibeLoop lets you create backing tracks in 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4, with eighth-note, sixteenth-note and triplet subdivisions.
A JibeLoop project can contain up to 12 measures.
Shuffle mode gives your backing track a triplet feel.
The Shuffle amount can be adjusted to fine-tune the groove, from a straight feel to a more pronounced shuffle.
Yes. Audio preview lets you hear the instruments while editing.
This feature can be enabled or disabled in the settings.
Yes. JibeLoop includes a mixer that lets you adjust the volume of the bass and each drum element separately.
Mute and Solo also let you quickly mute or isolate individual elements.
Practice and improve
Yes. JibeLoop includes a customizable metronome, including a choice of sounds.
It can be used with your backing tracks to keep a steady rhythmic reference while you practice.
Yes. JibeLoop offers a customizable 1- or 2-measure count-in.
When using loops or tempo progression, you can also choose when the count-in occurs: at the start of playback, at each loop, or at each new tempo step.
Yes. You can set the start and end measures of the loop to automatically repeat the section of the backing track you want to practice.
The loop can be used on its own or combined with tempo progression.
Tempo progression lets you gradually increase the tempo while you practice.
Set the starting and target tempos, then choose the tempo increment and the number of repetitions for each step. JibeLoop then automatically increases the tempo as the loops repeat.
This lets you practice a passage progressively without having to stop playing to adjust the tempo manually.
Audio and latency
Yes. JibeLoop can be used with Bluetooth headphones or a speaker.
Since Bluetooth can introduce a delay between the display and the sound, JibeLoop provides latency compensation to adjust playback to your device.
You can adjust playback latency compensation in JibeLoop’s settings.
A separate setting also lets you compensate for instrument preview latency while editing.
These settings let you adjust JibeLoop to the device and connection method you are using.
Built-in smartphone speakers have more difficulty reproducing certain frequencies, especially low frequencies.
The sound may therefore differ from what you hear with headphones or a suitable speaker.
Projects and sharing
Projects created with JibeLoop are saved in the app’s storage in the .jloop format.
You can export a project to save a copy in a location of your choice.
When a project is imported from another location, a copy is added to JibeLoop’s storage.
